Essien's was over at Kante's age now. Cant really compare the 2. Essien had 3 acl injuries. Kante hasnt had anything as bad as that, and still gets around the pitch like he did 4 years ago. 47 games this season. I was worried a little too but this season has shown he can maintain a high level of performance, and as long as we dont over work him, he will fit most games. A fit Kante is the best midfielder in the world.

With the squad we got, I'm pretty contend with quality more than quantity from him. Essien was a tragic case, probably never reached the height he could have due to that injury

I mean he’s always a monster but even by his standards he has been absolutely colossal in our run to the Champions League. He is hands down the best central midfield player in the world. It doesn’t matter who he is up against, he will pocket them and then some. It’s like we’re playing with 12 men when he’s in the team. The guy is a club legend and I f**king love him 💙

If indeed France do it he must be considered as the front runner for the Ballon d'Or. Winning that, too, would probably be the most deserved individual trophy a footballer has ever won, Kante truly is an amazing human being.

May 29, 20215 yr Kante was fantastic tonight, and so was every Chelsea player without exception. I might have picked Kova but I’d have been wrong again. As great as he is I will bet he plays less as the injuries get the upper hand. A wonderful player and one of the smartest acquisitions Chelsea have ever made.
