Dave is doing a class bit of punditry and standing our corner

OK, third comment on Dave being classpost-match, now I need to know what he said!

Called out Anthony Taylor before hand and he delivered again.

What a joke of going to a video monitor and watching a 2 second picture and leaving. He made his mind up already he had a chance to stick the knife in again.

Having said that I echo what the manager said and he should should taken the time to watch the video, and then I woild expect him to make the same decision.

I always ask myself when I see a controversial incident what if it was the other way around? What if that was TAA who did exactly what James did and looked guilty as anything when when camera panned on him right after it?

For me I would be saying he used his arm and denied us a goal, and would be wanting a pen for us and a red card.

How he got to the call was BS,but it was the right call imo.

Brilliant by all of the rest defensively, once more our attack is not good enough as we should just buried them before all that kicked off.

A point will do, should have been 3 imo.

Just saw ex-ref Gallagher on telly defending Taylor's decision by claiming that James's hand moved towards the ball.  We all know this is not  the case, we saw it with our own eyes. The ball hits the thigh and bounces into his arm and then the arm moves forward following the ball (but not touching) as it bounced off.  In any case this arm movement does not make the body unnaturally bigger (as a condition in the book of rules).

Why do they make the sh*t up? This really pisses me off, as there is no room for interpretation - the video is f**king clear for anyone to see that there was no movement towards the ball to prevent scoring a goal.

Walking away before the video has been played, what a knob, total disrespect for the VAR system, V is for VIDEO you bell end. A normal referee would take their time to evaluate the different angles and give himself every opportunity of coming up with the correct decision.

Honestly what is the point of him coming to the monitor. If all he want to know whether the ball hit James hand, he should have asked var official. It was obvious the ball hit James hand. The question was  is it deliberate? , is it a deflection? How can you decide that in 2 seconds.

Fun stat:

2 - Anthony Taylor has 2 FA Cup winner's medals, the same number as Preston North End, Old Etonians, Portsmouth, Sunderland, Nottingham Forest and Bury. This is more than 9 of the sides currently in the Premier League. Source: @OptaEnrique

Fun stat:

1 - Anthony Taylor has earned 1 point in the Premier League this season. This is as many as Leeds United and Newcastle United but also one more than relegation-threatened Arsenal. Source: @OptaBaldCharlatan

What a sub today by TT about 8 minutes from time in bringing on Chalobah. Shows how much he trusts him at a high pressure point in the game. That must do a lot for the boys confidence. Now with James out for 3 matches that should give him more minutes play.

Really looking at the opportunities we had where we made appaling choices with final passes that could lead to a one vs keeper chance, Lukaku twice, Kante, Mount and Havertz once each. Really really poor decision making and cost us the win.

Am I the only Chelsea fan that roots for Celtic over Rangers?

No. At,least not while they have an Aussie coach.

Thought Alonso was excellent today, my man of match. We might have had two in the first half, there was some poor decision making, but hopefully that will improve. Well done to the boys these are the games that forge the spirit   I’d have taken a point before the game and now I think we probably have the beating of them in us. Do think we need another mid.

Not going to change the result and want to move on but I remain astounded by the lack of understanding of the new hand ball rules by people who are supposedly experts of the game

if the ball hits another part of the body then hits the arm or have then it is not hand ball - that is the rule

only time it can be changed if their is a clear attempt by the player to move his arm or hand towards the ball to move the ball away

Reece didn’t do that and the ref hardly looked at it

it was wrong, pundits, refs sticking up for him and managers need to have the training again, this was debated at some length last season and they have even forgotten which is quite remarkable,  or they have chosen to forget.

if, as I'm sure we are all hoping, the understanding between Lukaku and our other forward players really clicks, we are going to take a lot of teams apart

Lukaku has only had a few training sessions the understanding should improve markedly over the next month for me.

Dippers being accused of homophobic language again by small section of crowd!! It was all round the ground when Mount took a corner in the first half. Nothing mentioned on sky’s live broadcast.  Not their fault though!!
