He signed...what, 3 weeks ago? Let him settle in, along with the other new players, sheez.

He’s also not technically a winger and playing there in the PL is different than the Bundesliga.

Would have been a good game without that red. I feel we could have won it. Not our day.

Not too negative. We can always lose to the champions considering we are riddled with injuries. Key players were missing. Think about Liverpool playing without Mane and Salah. They wouldn't win any game.

Onwards and upwards. So much to see more this season.

Kepa wasn't bad at all he gave away the goal but that was just pure pressure from Mane and it happens

Pure pressure? He wasn't even particularly close to Kepa until he decided to pass the ball to him.

For all the exciting signings we made, our football is boring af.

True. So it can't be the players can it, surely. I'm hoping I am wrong but I think the last time I was thoroughly entertained watching us play was Contes first season. That can't be right can it? Surely we have played attacking attractive football since then.

put someone on penalties who can actually smash the ball ffs.

Guy has one of the top top penalty conversion rates just because it looks silly the very rare occasion gets saved it would be the epitome of knee jerk to then abandon it. It's just kneejerk.

So... Christensen with a classy red card

Alonso - huge responsibility for the first goal.

Kepa - no comment

Mount - invisible with 11 and 10 men

Frank keeps doing the same mistakes with the players selection.

I don't think any of them will get much playing time after we get the indured players back.

Had high expectations for this season. I'm not anymore sure that this will be that great season. Well, it's only second match of the season but lot has to happen.

Even thou we lost 0-2 iam gojng to take it as a pluss pluss pluss but not a 4th pluss ,when you take into account it was against lpool with 10 men in the 2nd half and our keeper giving them the 2nd goal .

i will be throwing my Teddy bears out of me pram should kepa start next week > play Willy ffs Frank

It's a mental game as well, by the time we got the penalty he knew the game was lost anyway and that probably played a big role as well.

Look at thd goal again when he got the ball Mane was right on him Kepa has his faults but that ball should have gone up field

We setup like i thought we would, but the quality on the ball in the middle of pitch wasnt good enough.

Just started to improve then the red card happens, and its a massive uphill battle from there.

Important to keep perspective, we only had 1 preseason game, compared to liverpool who had 4. We were missing 5 of our best 11, and no doubt we will be a different team in the return fixture.

Harsh red, which changed the game. Mane went to ground on first contact, and Kepa was there. Thought the Yellow was correct. Up until then, we had chances and it was an interesting game. After then, completely dull. Damage limitation.

That aside, did we really expect to win with last season’s defence. The sooner we have a fully fit & available squad, the better.

Away fro the doom & gloom  a bit of light at the end of the tunnel : Aspiring young team Chelsae, any chance we could win this league this year?

Leicester City way in 2016?

Yes, it was a horrific mistake by Kepa once again.

What worries me more is that Mendy is not known for being good with the ball and if we keep passing the ball around our own box the entire game these mistakes will happen regularly. Say what you want about Kepa but he is decent on the ball and Mendy will be more of a downgrade in that regard.

I am most dissapointed that the game was a total anti climax after the red card. The red for me was harsh. Mane was not going to score from there, Kepa cleared it. It killed the game off and then even when we had a chance Jorginiho pissed the pen up the wall.

Make no mistake though. Liverpool could have battered us if they wanted to. Really anti climax that game. Hurry up with the signings being fit ffs.

Except in that season, every team was imploding in one way or another. Before Pep, Klopp's first season, Jose on a downward spiral, Wenger on a downward spiral so on and so forth.

No it doesn't just happen. Kepa has done that a lot and not been punished for it, today he was. The problem was that Kepa hit it straight, he should have kicked away from Mane. Saying "it happens" can be said about every mistake Kepa makes.

Poor from us today.

Kepa gave them their second goal. Schoolboy goalkeeping error.

It was like we were  playing away from home in a European two legged tie.

After finishing last season with caballero, I don't understand why he went back to kepa again, unless it's a message to the board to get the new keeper in sharpish.

In the end the result is not all that surprising, Liverpool are still miles ahead of us, and I'd suspect city will be too. But for the race for best of the rest we still have the same major issue as last season, we concede far too many goals.

We'll have a better idea where we stand in another month or 2 when we get all the new guys into the team.

There is also an argument that perhaps AC doesn't make that challenge on Mane if he has more confidence in the keeper behind him. If Kepa plays for this club again it will be pretty clear he is being forced on the manager because of his price tag.
