The one thing we can use this for is to see how his style of play works in our new team, then we have a choice of either signing him or looking for a similar player to sign (if there are any). If it doesn't work then we know what kind of player NOT to sign. So even if we dont look to spend daft money on him it should be used as a building exercise for next season.
February 9, 20233 yr Anything is possible. When Kovacic signed permanently after his loan I was over the moon. What a beautiful signing at that point and still is today overall.
February 9, 20233 yr Thought the Athletic reported a buy option in the deal? That being said, I am still not sure how both Felix and Nkunku work. Both like playing off a ST.

February 10, 20233 yr Félix looked exciting on his debut, but I think I want to see more than an hour of football before I draw any conclusions about permanent signings.

February 11, 20233 yr Despite what I said about 36 hours ago, I for one think that Lukaku would make a truly excellent Simeone player and is worth at least €124m to them.
February 11, 20233 yr Mount is very good at playing deeper making off the ball run, carrying the ball forward from deep and making passes from deep (he has struggled to do all of this recently but that is whole another story). I don't want Felix to do any of this. I want felix to get the ball as high as possible just behind a st, make run behind opp line or even play as st. Basically I want Felix to get number. Get shot, get goal, get assist you name it. I said this before West ham game and what I was afraid of, happened. We asked felix to do everything. Yes he is very good and he can do everything but why do we want him to do everything. We need him to do most his damage in final third, not picking the ball up from CB or fb and bring the ball fw. I wrote Mount here because this was from Mount thread but it can be anybody, just not felix Edited February 11, 20233 yr by Bob stark

I'm going all in. I think he is going to be every bit as great as I thought he could be. If, of course, we don't stifle his style and coach out all of the undoubted creativity he has shown so far. I have seen him for 1cgamecand 1 hour and for me he has had 2 MOTM so far

February 12, 20233 yr The first No. 10 we have that had everything. Strength, speed, creativity and the knack for goals. If he brings 2/3rds as much goals as Zola did, I'm happy enough
February 12, 20233 yr Clearly motivated, and brings something so different that we sorely lack. He's a faster and better version of Oscar, and technically gifted like Hazard was (not those levels). I've seen enough to convince me we should sign him, and excited to see what the second half of the season brings.
February 12, 20233 yr How long before he gets drawn down to the levels of those around him though? Let's hope he can avoid that fate.
February 12, 20233 yr Best player on the pitch in the first half. Give it 10 games and see how he’s doing then. Depends on price as well if he wants to join.
February 13, 20233 yr Looks class, still can't see us signing him permanently. Looks like a stop gap until Nkunku arrives.

He's playing really well and hasn't needed much time to get used to the PL. And he is not very keen on going back to Atletico de Madrid. I hope that Boehly sees how much he brings to the team and tries to get him signed.
