Torres scored that goal against Barca which makes up for the rest of his time here in my eyes.

Only Torres can get that type of leeway for doing the basics of his job with half the pitch to himself 20 seconds after nearly blowing the entire for us.

Did get both of his goal attempts on target yesterday, which is an improvement on a few forwards we've had in recent times. Really put his foot through the first one as well. Martinez made a good save from that one.

If he's scored the first he'd have scored the second. But I really don't think I can cope with another player for us who can't just put the ball in the net.

Honestly feel people are giving up on him too early. Sure we paid a lot of money for him but he's only started less than a handful of games and has been good in about 2 of them. Not to mention the team as a whole is out of form and we have a manager that isn't leading us anywhere atm. It's very premature for people to call this signing a flop and frankly a bit embarrassing.

I'm not giving up. I was very frustrated yesterday after another sh*t performance. There's clearly some talent there. I just worry about the amount of money and the length of some of these contracts, considering we don't exactly have a great track record when it comes to transfers. Imagine if we'd had Bakayoko, Werner, etc... on 8 year deals, just because they were young and "promising".

Speaking of Torres, Mudryk does have that deer in the headlights look about him like Fernando did, not gonna go down the physiognomy rabbit hole but he does seem to carry that same energy/aura.

Torres was already in decline when he joined us, Mudryk is a few years away from hitting his peak, so bit of a difference there. Torres was given lots of chances to impress, Mudryk hasn't. We are in this strange situation where Felix must play because of the loan fee, Havertz picks himself every game, only 1 spot for the rest of the 4-5 players.

Not really, Felix has to play because Potter want one of his front 3 to be able drop more and play more like playmaker.

Our choice is Felix, mount or Ziyech. You don't want to play Ziyech and Mount is injured hence there is only one option.

I'm not judging any of our new signings as they've come into the most turbulent situation possible. Mudryk looked unstoppable before he had time to settle into the mediocracy being offered up as of late. Get a manager that can set up a team with actual wingers and himself and Madueke will be completely different players. Can't believe i'm seeing people write them off already.

Think you’ve misunderstood the post, it was just in reference to his physiognomy and the sulk/deer in headlights look about him. It takes huge characters to deal with elite football. I hope he’s up for it, as the guy has definitely got the raw materials, now Potter has gone at least he’ll most likely play in his actual position at least and under clear instruction.

Or not, as the interim was Potter's assistent coach even at Brighton.

Bakayoko is in his 6th season with us. Baba Rahman is in his 8th.

It's not that hard to imagine 🤣

Mudryk: you can see he has something about him & he’s making the mistakes young players do so I don’t think anyone should be worried.

We were still going through - even without that goal

He won that corner for Drogba's goal in the final.

If we get Nagelsman don't be suprised if you see murdyk and madueke being deployed as wb at the same time

I asked in January did we spend a 100 mill. on a player that had scored 7 goals in Ukreinian League. Now I must believe that we really did that. We payed 100 mill on a player that had scored 7 goals in Ukraine. Rather expensive to me, don't you think?

To be fair, Mbappe would struggle in this team, too. Especially our PL matches which are a clown show nowadays. This team is done for the season, their confidence is absolutely shot. Sports is not only about names and how good they are, the mental side plays a huge part, for me personally it's way more important than talent. You can have all the tricks and skills in this world, if your head's not right then you are done.

The best example I can give you is Arsenal. Are they anything special? Not at all. It's the same team that last season managed to bottle the fourth place when it looked like it was impossible to do so. But now they are riding on a huge wave of confidence and everything clicks when everything is perfect in your head. Confidence can drive average teams to new heights and completely destroy big ones when the atmosphere is toxic.

Let's judge all these new players after next season when a new manager will come in, hopefully a world class one and there will be no European football. If we are still a mess with one match every week, seven or even eight days rest, no away games abroad and only three competitions to play, basically an advantage no big club has, then I agree, we're in big trouble.

I said this in another thread, the sh*t part about this season is that we don't know who's playing sh*t or is actually sh*t. Because nobody is exactly basking themselves in glory this season.

Haaland would struggle getting a goal here at the minute, same with Mbappe.

I still believe in Mudryk, I think he's talented and I believe we can get him on the right track, same with many other players in the team. I can't even judge the likes of Felix or dare I say it Cucurella too harshly either because nobody is playing well right now. It's a bit hard to believe everyone we've signed is sh*t and the team isn't good enough. Just look at Mount and James, we know they are good players, but they just can't get going at the minute. And as inconsistent as Havertz usually is, we know he is better than this, even if it's just a bit better.

The hype is based on his CL performances. That being said, I don`t see how he is worth 100 million either. He might turn out to be a great player for us but the fee seems silly considering the immense risk.

Fresh from the plane for that game. All those subsequent training sessions from Potter must have done a number on him. 😅

Yeap. Once a good manager comes in at some point during the summer we'll be in good hands cause this kid is really good. There is a reason why Arsenal wanted him too.

That's a worry then.

The devil is always in the detail, and 2 of his 3 CL goals this season were against Celtic, who (being polite) are a long way short of being a good side in Europe.

Again why are going after young players.. yesterday Sterling was shocking and Kova even poorer.. they didn’t even look championship level.. they are the ones who are letting us down not Mudryk or Madueke or chukumweka.
