Key moment of the game, Kante makes a great run we win a corner and Mount delivers a great ball for the 4th PL goal of Zouma this season. This is why I might just change my mind and see Kante as the MoTM.

Missing chances seems to fire him up, like he feels he needs to make up for it. It's something both Morata and Torres lacked.

Absolutely, its great to see. He doesn't duck out, he still shows for the ball and is desperate for it so he can make up for it .

In case he misses the ball Kai is there as well.

Another great positive not just today but this season is our corners. We are finally causing teams problems from corners on a regular basis and it is so good to see after all those seasons of not beating the first man!!

Well it certainly isn’t helping his confidence is it

If he keeps missing such chances   how can we trust him at CF? All strikers miss chances but it's very weird to miss so many gilt-edged chances in a row.  Maybe he's just not a good finisher

Great point - the one you responded to I mean (!) about how he keeps fighting in a way Torres and morata didn’t after missing sitters. Needs to start converting some soon as it is bound to cost us sooner or later.

mind you, Giroud missed quite a few himself tonight.

Whenever we conceded a corner last season it felt as though we had already given a goal away, at times I couldn't even watch the stream whenever we conceded one it was that bad.

Complete opposite this season, not just defensively but offensively. A big factor for that is Willian, no more Willian hitting his first man, we finally have some good set piece takers.

Far from our best performance tonight but this is how champions win games. Great mentality again after conceding the goal. Actually even after we conceded I was unusually confident we would win this one, which is something I haven't felt in years.

For me the MOTM is Kante, he was everywhere on the pitch. Probably his best performance in a while. Also Mount and James were top class.

Isn't it lovely to look at the table right now? ? Can't believe I'm going to support Arsenal tomorrow.

Big up to the 2k lucky ones who got in, plenty of noise and miles better than the spammers in the earlier game.

Yes indeed loud with masks on.

And a round of applause at the start when the player took the knee but obviously the media won’t report that!

What a rollercoaster match and top of the table for about 16 hours at least so they have to talk about it on MOTD!

Thought Leeds gave us a tough match today and Frank underestimated them by playing Havertz instead of Kovacic.

  • Great pass by Chilwell to set up Ziyech early, poor shot.
  • Their goal was a great pass Bamford read and put it away very crisply, Mendy or Zouma not sure yet not our best moment.
  • 6 minutes in and I think Silva flaps and hoofs a ball away from the box with not clue where it is going, we get away with it.
  • Havertz bottles a 50 / 50 challenge on 12mins.
  • After this we set to work trying to break them down, Giroud with a header that was off target and then Werner proceeds to clear a ball of their line from a Giroud effort.
  • 24 mins Havetz loses possession.
  • 26 mins Ziyech conjures some trickery to put James free on the right for one touch cross with Giroud clinically despatching from the near post ( Tammy please take note, look for the near post).
  • Had to step away
  • 53 mins Havertz header should have scored.
  • 61 mins Imperious header from Zouma, Giroud did a good decoy move from a corner.
  • 71 mins Kante breaks well yet overruns it getting tackled, if only he had passed to his left.
  • 72 mins thinking Tammy should come on for Giroud who is not moving so quickly.
  • 75 mins Werner put through one on one and keeper saves.
  • 76 mins Giroud misses with a header.
  • 80 mins Chilwell fouled Poveda in our box, penalty not spotted  as player stays on his feet, close!
  • 93 mins Werner put free and crosses for Pulisic .............. CFC top of the table.
  • Silva - great distribution from the back, yet one bad moment he got away with.

Players comments

  • Chilwell mostly solid except that moment we could have conceded a penalty.
  • Mount strong performance, tackles, passes and good corners.
  • Kante, was good though thought he was boked for a challenge though stats say no, showed some pace at times too.
  • James was solid and with a good assist.
  • Chilwell strong performance and should have had an assist with better finishing, needs to watch challenges in the box.
  • Havertz, still not convinced, undoubtedly skillful though seems a bit ponderous at times, surprised to see him replace Kovacic against a high energy Leeds.
  • Zouma, one bad moment yet otherwise sound and another good goal form a corner.
  • Giroud, good though should have scored more.
  • Werner like Havertz not his best day for finishing though provided a good assist for Pulisic. Werner kept breaking positively despite his misses.
  • Abraham did well coming on and nicking the ball to create an opportunity.
  • Mendy, possibly at fault for the goal otherwise good.
  • Kova later made a difference in midfield helping keeping us moving forward and stopping their breaks.

Other stuff

Leeds kept the ball well at the back making us come forward and it was frustrating as it must be like that for opposition fans that play us.

Frank did ok, not keen on Havertz starting though his subs worked for me.

Just watching 'Planes Trains and Automobiles' ,bottle of Rioja. On the back of beating dirty Leeds, perfect evening

Now that's a quality night in.

What was the deal with the Leeds’ players dropping to the ground every time a Chelsea player came near them? That was embarrassing. Same with how poor Leeds were trying to build the ball out of the back.

Atleast the sub didn't drop with the contact from Chilwell in the penalty box.  Whatever we may think, if VAR got their hands on that it would have been a penalty based on everything we've seen this season.

We played a good game, conceded a goal out of no where , and should have drawn level pretty much straight away if not for some bizarre goal line tap in ( or the lack of). We looked the better team as the game went on, and should have taken the lead before half time. Second goal was a beauty, and to be honest we bossed them over those set pieces, could have scored another couple of. The ending was a bit nervous, but don't feel we were panicking at any stage unlike some games last season. Nice way to kill off the way, Werner is on a goal drought but he's contributing. Best player on field was James, that was very smart of him to time that overlap run, defenders had no chance to track him, and cross was a beauty. Giroud is on a hot streak,  probably earned himself a starting spot next weekend. Ziyech injury is a concern, but thankfully Pullisic looked fit again.

Win after a tough trip in Europe over a side that have energy to spare and basically is our biggest derby? Job done.

Certainly could have scored more and blown my 5 goal prediction out of the water. On another day Timo knocks in a hat trick and Giroud adds at least one more.

Hopefully Ziyech is not out long.

Biggest disappointment for me is Mendy misreading the ball to Bamford, gotten used to the clean sheets is disappointing to concede.

Chelsea go top of the league, top scorers in the league, playing great stuff. Are they first on match of the day? Course not.

The match finished 10pm-ish, Match of the Day started 10.25 pm. Probably no time to edit the match recordings and the start of the programme.
