September 7, 20223 yr Why would Potter come to Chelsea when he's got a cushy job at Brighton where he is being praised and adored? Also, I'm not sure that big of a jump up for him would benefit us. Edited September 7, 20223 yr by enigma

He's been given players he wanted, ok, maybe not all but nobody gets everything. He's been backed by more money than any other CFC manager in history. Todd may have more patience than Roman but he's very ambitious and a winner and at some point if things continue to deteriorate he's going to have a decision to make. Turns out I was wrong.

Liverpool and Man City, the two most successful clubs in this country have given their coaches plenty of time. If we couldn’t give a club legend time after a 2 month bad patch, what chance does anyone else have? I just don’t think it’s in the clubs DNA - new owners same issues. Bates wasn’t much better if I recall correctly either it just went into hyperdrive when Roman took over.

It's who we are. An integral part of our identity. I finally learnt to accept that after the Lampard sacking.

Backing the coach has been an exception forever. It's a myth that it's only recently that managers get sacked every 2 years.

Because we've heard just about every other random deadline in this thread - until Villa match, 3 games, 2 months, start of the World Cup, the next full moon....ffs. 😧
September 7, 20223 yr What we need urgently is a Director of Football. It's clear as daylight that there lies our main problem at the moment.... that and creative midfielders.

The realisation for me was Mourinho's sacking the second time round. After that, I've never been emotionally invested in managers the way I used to be.
September 7, 20223 yr I'm a bit surprised by the timing. I thought we'd wait until we'd lost at Fulham and got battered by Liverpool
September 7, 20223 yr Exciting!! Who's next? Will we win another Champions League this season? Will we start shooting at the goal more than twice in a match? Is Roman still secretly running the club? Edited September 7, 20223 yr by Snedger

September 7, 20223 yr dummest f*ckin decision ever...he's a top 3 coach. There won't be a better one out there right now. Boehly will regret this.
September 7, 20223 yr I wonder if that interview did for him last night, if I was an owner and saw a manager give an interview like that it would raise a lot if red flags. Or he knew that he was done for before the interview.
September 7, 20223 yr Not surprised he was sacked, just surprised it was this early. At least give him time to try some new things out., he's earnt that at the very least.

Talksport (so take with a pinch of salt) saying apparently they had already made the decision prior to last night, and that his interview and saying he don't know why we lost was the final nail.
September 7, 20223 yr Wow this is shocking. I don't expect him to lose his job so soon. It turn out Roman was very patient after all 😂😂

For me it's still like a knife in the heart each time. And here I was naively thinking our identity was about to change....
September 7, 20223 yr Would be interesting to see how they handled this historically with their other clubs, baseball etc. Did they go big name, experienced or up and coming manger.
